Wondrous Love (Mini-lesson)

Here’s one  of my favorite pieces of music:  Wondrous Love.  This is a song from the Shape Note tradition and found in the Southern Harmony book.   Like many shape note songs, it’s modal, and often written in the Dorian Mode, and I play it in Aminor.

Here’s a recording.  I like to do a drone with A and E at beginning and end and in-between, and I actually play it with myself the last time through.  I think this really adds to the interest of tune.
